The yard. The rental agreement is between your business and theirs, and it is the document that governs condition, risk of loss, maintenance, operator qualification, and what happens if something goes wrong. This platform verifies both businesses and introduces you to each other. It is not a party to the agreement and takes no payment for the rental.

You and the yard, under the agreement you both signed. That agreement is where the line between mechanical wear and damage is drawn, and where the remedy for downtime is set. The platform holds the documentation both sides uploaded at handoff and at return, and will produce it for either party or their insurer. It does not inspect equipment, does not adjudicate the dispute, and does not decide who pays.

No. Listing is limited to registered businesses running commercial equipment: rental yards, dealers, and contractors with a commercial fleet. You need active business registration, an EIN, and equipment coverage that expressly permits rental to third parties. Casual owners are the population that produced the maintenance disputes, last-minute cancellations, and denied claims that sank earlier attempts at this, so the platform does not admit them.

Commercial general liability of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, plus rented equipment or inland marine coverage sized to the machine. Your certificate has to name both the equipment provider and Ozark Equipment Network as additional insured, name the provider as loss payee, be primary and non-contributory, and carry a waiver of subrogation. The yard will check it against those requirements before releasing a machine.

Check, because most do not. Standard commercial general liability and a lot of inland marine policies exclude renting equipment to a third party without an operator. That exclusion is not a technicality; it is the specific gap that has produced denied claims in this business. Talk to your broker before you list, and expect us to ask for the endorsement.

You and the yard. Most yards deliver, some renters haul their own, and independent haulers cover the rest. The platform does not own trucks, does not employ or dispatch drivers, and is not a motor carrier or a transport broker. Keeping the platform out of the transport chain is deliberate.

This platform does not assess, collect, remit, or advise on any statutory fee or tax on a rental. We are not in the transaction at all. Whether any particular fee or tax applies to your business, and who is responsible for it, is a question for your accountant and your attorney. We will not answer it for you, and you should be wary of any platform that does.

If you are renting, nothing. The yard prices and invoices the rental and you pay them directly, exactly as you would if you had found them yourself. This platform is paid by the yards it partners with, on a monthly basis for exclusive coverage of their category and market, and never out of your booking. Not yet, and it would be easy to pretend otherwise.
